DG's MESSAGE MESSAGE I convey my heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Odisha and all members of Odisha Police, on assuming the charge of DG & IG of Police. I also pay my sincere homage to all those brave Police personnel who have laid down their lives in the line of duty, while fighting leftwing extremism in the State. All of us are aware that as police officers, we are duty bound to uphold law without fear or favour and provide a sense of security to the people. We also need to improve the police-public interface and create an environment conducive to peace, progress and development. We should therefore, project a humane face of policing, by becoming friendly and accessible to the people and responsive to their grievances all the time. We must also show grater professionalism in investigation and prevention of crime and handling law and order situations. Human Rights and dignity of the people have to be respected while enforcing the rule of law. I attach utmost importance to merit and professionalism, honesty, integrity and transparency and assure all of you my sincere support in bonafide discharge of duty. I hope and expect your whole hearted cooperation in improving the quality of policing and delivery of public services at the grass roots.
